Official Public Records

The County Clerk’s office maintains and accepts for filing public records relating to real property in Somervell County, including Warranty Deeds; Deeds of Trust; Mechanics’ Liens; Releases, Transfers and Assignments of Liens; Easements; Oil & Gas Leases; Affidavits of Heirship, etc.

To be recorded, a Land Record must be an original or clerk certified copy with an original signature and must be notarized. The recording fee is $26 for the first page, and $4 for each additional page.

To submit documents for recording by mail, please include payment and a postage paid return envelope, and mail to Michelle Reynolds, Somervell County Clerk, PO Box 1098, Glen Rose, TX 76043. Documents submitted via UPS or FedEx should be sent to 107 NE Vernon, Glen Rose, TX 76043.

The public is welcome to review land records in the Clerk’s Office using the public terminals during regular business hours of 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or you may go online and view land records using the link pa.co.somervell.tx.us . Deed/Real Records are available from 1875 to the present. The cost to print or copy records is $1 per page and an additional $5 per document to certify (certified copies may only be purchased in the clerk’s office).
