OVERVIEW OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Sheriff’s Office has countywide jurisdiction and patrol responsibility for Somervell County. The Sheriff’s Office is also responsible for operating the county jail and provides dispatch operation services to the Somervell County Fire and EMS, Glen Rose Police Department, Somervell County Constables and State Law Enforcement Agencies operating in Somervell County.
The Sheriff and his officers are responsible for making arrests, investigating crimes, enforcing traffic and maintaining security in the Somervell Courts. The Sheriff’s Office also serves civil and criminal process documents to include, citations, writs, subpoenas and warrants.
