POSITION SUMMARY:

Provide pleasant and efficient food and beverage service to guests in the snack bar and throughout the golf course.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Take and fill orders for food and beverages.
  • Assist in managing the daily operation of the golf shop to include greeting, checking in and servicing guests. Also includes collection of green fees and selling merchandise.
  • Stock and monitor food and beverage inventory levels.
  • Maintain kitchen and kitchen equipment cleanliness.

This position receives supervision from the Sergeant Corrections Office and the Lieutenant Jail Administrator.

EXAMPLES OF IMPORTANT RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES – Important responsibilities and duties may include but are not limited to the following.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
• Examination of legal documents to determine that inmates are being legally admitted to the Somervell County Jail.
• Review of current arrest records, criminal history information, and past institutional behavior records in order to classify inmates and place them in proper housing.
• Review of inmate medical and mental health information to identify inmates with serious medical problems, contagious diseases, or suicidal tendencies.
• Properly log and record all inmate monies and personal property.
• Conduct searches of inmates including clothing and living space.
• Communicate with professionals and the general public regarding jail inmates.
• Perform security checks and document prisoner actions; investigate any suspicious activities.
• Maintain the sanitary conditions of the prisoners and the jail structure.
• Distribute supplies, food, medication, and other necessities to inmates incarcerated in the Somervell County Jail.
• Supervise visitations, document all daily activities, report and log all maintenance.
• Handle disciplinary problems; restrain violent and suicidal inmates; respond to medical emergencies; contact proper authorities when necessary.
• Prepare and serve meals according to state jail standards.
• Create and maintain a variety of records, reports and logs, both handwritten and on computer.
• Complete process of intake of an inmate on the computerized software in use by the Somervell County Jail

Perform maintenance on the golf courses utilizing grounds maintenance equipment.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Perform daily or as needed rotation of greens’ cup utilizing a utility cart, cup cutter, and cup setter in order to reduce wear on the greens.
  • Rake bunkers by hand or with mechanical bunker rake to smooth the surfaces and remove debris.
  • Distribute ice chests full of bottled water and 10 gallon water coolers to designated areas to provide the golfers with drinking water.
  • Operate various outdoor power tools such as weed eaters, edgers, blowers, sod cutters, trash pumps, triplex mowers, and shovels to manicure and maintain the aesthetics and structure of the property.
  • Clean rest rooms with cleaning supplies to insure sanitary conditions for the public.
  • Operate utility vehicles to move about the golf courses on assignments and to transport tools and supplies.
  • Perform tree removal or pruning utilizing a chain saw. Work to be performed under direct supervision or when sufficiently trained.
  • Wear all necessary safety gear for personal safety and safety of others.
  • Haul debris or pull implements utilizing a tractor. Work to be performed under direct supervision or when sufficiently trained.
