DEPARTMENT:        Golf Course Maintenance                               GRADE:  D.O.E  $25,708.80 – $36,420.80

POSITION SUMMARY:

Maintain and repair the maintenance machinery and equipment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Anticipate equipment needs to make ready for scheduled course maintenance.
• Keep records of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.
• Purchasing and expense tracking.
• Assist in specifying equipment and tools for purchase.
• Perform general duties such as sharpening blades, fixing flats, and changing tires.
• Work a generally normal schedule with flexibility when necessary (after hours, weekends, etc)
• Attend work consistently and punctually.
• Work appropriately with other mechanic and others.
• Work well with supervision receiving instructions / feedback, coaching / counseling and / or action / discipline.
• Adhere to all policies and procedures of Somervell County.

ADDITIONAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Other duties as assigned.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Mechanic experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Minimal – Climbing, and overhead reaching.

Moderate – Kneeling / squatting, reaching, driving, and tractor / other heavy machinery operation.

Extensive – Standing, bending / stooping, pushing / pulling, walking, grasping / squeezing, wrist flexion / extension, and hand tool use / manual and power.

Moving – 51 to 75 lbs.

ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS:

Extensive – Extreme cold, extreme heat, noise, vibration, exposure to dust / gas / fumes / steam / chemicals, working around moving machinery, and protective equipment required.
