JOB TITLE: Event Technician EFFECTIVE: APRIL 2022
SUPERVISOR: Public Events Director STATUS: Non-Exempt
DEPARTMENT: Public Events RANGE: $30,372.72 – $36,625.02
POSITION SUMMARY:
Perform routine maintenance, assist in set up of events, and coordinate activities during events. Receive general direction from senior Event Technicians.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Meet with lessee upon arrival.
• Open and close buildings in accordance with contract requirements.
• Perform minor repairs on building mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC. Repairs are performed under the supervision of senior or more knowledgeable staff.
• Change over facility between events.
• Operate floor scrubber and polisher.
• Haul debris and perform clean up duties as needed.
• Attend work consistently and punctually.
• Work appropriately with others.
• Work well with supervision receiving instructions / feedback, coaching / counseling and / or action / discipline.
• Adhere to all policies and procedures of Somervell County.
ADDITIONAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assumes primary responsibility for event service activities in the absence of senior event staff.
• Drive equipment as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Possession of a valid Texas Driver’s license.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos;
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization;
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals;
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
• Basic plumbing, carpentry, electrical, and HVAC skills;
• Basic sound and lighting system knowledge;
• Basic knowledge of theatrical, horse, and cattle equipment;
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Minimal – Standing, climbing, and overhead reaching.
Moderate – Kneeling / squatting, reaching, driving, and fork lift / other heavy machinery operation.
Extensive – Standing, bending / stooping, pushing / pulling, walking, climbing, grasping / squeezing, wrist flexion / extension, and hand tool use / manual and power.
Moving – 51 to 75 lbs.
ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS:
Extensive – Extreme cold, extreme heat, noise, vibration, exposure to dust / gas / fumes / steam / chemicals, work outdoors, walking on uneven ground, work at heights, working around moving machinery, and protective equipment required.
