We provide courteous experienced counsel to Hood and Somervell County veterans and their families and coordinate with organizations within the Veterans’ community for education, compensation and pension, medical care, insurance, VA loans, Texas Veterans’ benefits, and more. Some of those programs and services include but are not limited to:

  • Aid and Attendance Benefits Claims
  • Housebound Benefits Claims

Our office hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Walk ins are always welcome, however we often visit homebound Veterans so we encourage you to call our office first so we can reserve personal time for you. We are located in the same building where the Drivers License office is, right on West Pearl Street.

We are not a part of the U. S. Department of Veterans Affairs, more commonly known as the “VA”. The County Veterans’ Service Officer is appointed by the County Commissioners Court to serve Hood and Somervell County veterans and their families. We appreciate the opportunity and privilege to serve you.

Please go to the Hood County Veteran Services Webpage to find updated information, our calendar and some important resources for Veterans.
